As my girlfriend and I sat in the theatre waiting for the the movie to begin, I whispered to her, "I'm actually pretty excited to see this! I was JUST in Rome so I think it will be very exciting to see the scenery. Plus, JD is pretty yummy."
Not only did the film not live up to my visual expectations, it did not really live up to it's own genre of romantic 'comedy'. Kristen Bell's performance was at times painful to watch and, though he at least managed to make me laugh on occasion, JD's performance was also sub-par. The only saving grace was the consistently entertaining one liners delivered by Dax Shepard (Gale) and Bobby Moynihan (Puck).
Listen ladies and gents, I truly wanted to like this film, I really did. The best I can say is rent it when it comes out and judge for yourself if you feel like watching a very light movie. But, please, do yourself the favour and put your money towards something worthy of your $13. Like, say, a few caramel lattes.
